Promoting excellence in mathematics
The Mu Alpha Theta National High School and Three-Year College Mathematics Honor Society is an organization that promotes both academic excellence and community service in the field of mathematics. Castro Valley High School’s Mu Alpha Theta chapter is a math club that furthers these goals by teaching math at middle schools, hosting math competitions, and maintaining an active competitive math team. Every week, our dedicated memebers learn competitive math concepts and prepare for competitions including the AMC and RCML. In previous years, we offered a Mathcounts program for aspiring middle school mathletes, but we are unfortunately unable to faciliate the program this year due to schedule restrictions. However, we are offering weekly AMC 8 preperation opportunities led by high school volunteers. If you are intrested in participating in or volunteering for these events, please stay up to date with school announcements and our Discord server.
We meet in room 705 every Monday during lunch starting on August 28th. We use Discord for communication outside of meetings.
